In bright sunshine and around 15 ° C, we set out in a great mood. For the first time without Michael.
Drive to Weilburg. We put the mobile home on the parking space and went on the first small city tour. The chain bridge was the closest target. (1784). Then we started the "ascent" to the old town and looked for a nice restaurant to have dinner.
Then we went to the nicely laid out (small) castle garden.
This weekend an event took place in the city, so entry to the mining and local history museum was free.
Wetzlar has 2 campsites and a motorhome parking space. (Close to the center). Since the pitches were offered without electricity, we could not use them. (Our heating was not yet operational and we needed electricity for heating).
So we took that Campsite.
When you start from the parking lot, you first see the Lahn bridge from the 13th century. A few steps further you stand between the first half-timbered houses. We took our time to visit the city, as it offers not only historic houses but also an optics course and the Viseum. (Entrance fee for the Viseum at that time € 2.50 / adults, children and young people free).
Of the Optics course is spread over 23 stations in the city.
