Marstrand
We drove a little further north along the coast to Marstrand. The weather got a little bit better now.
We were lucky and got the last free space on a campsite. Since it was still covered, but dry, we took out chairs and a table for the first time this holiday and, above all, the grill. After a delicious dinner we got back on our bikes and drove down to the small town.
The next day:
We woke up and the sky was blue. :-))) !!!!!
Nothing like going down to the ferry and crossing over to the small island. Without a motorhome and without bikes, as the island is easy to explore on foot.
The crossing cost € 2.20 for adults and € 1.65 for a return trip together.
With its pretty wooden houses, the fortress Carlsten (17th century), a ruin, bathing beach, marina, promenade and lots of nature with hiking trails, the island invites you to visit.
Unfortunately, we couldn't take too long on the island because our parking meter expired.
Then we drove on to Trellebystrand 5km north of Lysekil.
On the way there the road suddenly came to an end and we had to take a ferry - which was free - to cross over to the other side.
Lysekil
We had taken the pitch for 2 days because the campsite agreed with us.
Again the sun shone from the sky. We sat on our bikes and drove the 5km to Lysekil. One would think that the path is so close to the coast. But I had to push more than once. (Uphill, downhill it went much better :-)). My two men didn't have so much trouble.
The old town of Lysekil, which consists more or less of one street, is quite nice to look at. We strolled a bit all over the place and along the harbor. There is the "House of the Sea", which we did not visit.
It was getting warmer and warmer and we were always limp. So we made our way back to the campsite.
For the first time we had a stretch of coast where the water looked tempting. That had to be exploited. So off into the waters ...
