Wir fahren ein Stück zurück, um nach Liepāja zu gelangen und parken Zvejnieku aleja / Ecke Hika iela. Hier beginnt auch die Kūrmājas prospekts, die wir entlang gehen. Es dauert nicht lange, bis wir in dieser Musik- und Kulturstadt auf die ersten Bronzeskulpturen stoßen.

It's for sale, but there's not much the buyer can do with a little paint alone. On the streets we see musical notes that are supposed to lead to the sights and meet other sculptures.

The Hotel Promenade, Juras iela 5, was set up in an old warehouse (19th century). It's right by the harbor.

After a break in the harbor, continue to the Trinity Cathedral. (Holy Trinity Cathedral, Liela ilea 9. The organ is said to have more than 7000 pipes. Unfortunately, photography is not permitted. It is possible to climb the tower, enjoy the view and examine the interior of the tower clock. But since I do I don't like climbing towers, let's not do that :-)

Auf der Alley of Fame (Zivju iela) befinden sich 35 Tafeln mit Handflächen-Abdrücken von Musikern. Auch das Rockcafé ist hier angesiedelt.

Am Petersmarkt (Kursu laukums 5, 7, 9) herrscht reges Treiben. Die Markthalle wurde 1910 zwischen 3 Kirchen gebaut.

Alte Häuser mit schönen, jedoch maroden Fassaden säumen die Straße. Die Balkone sind nicht mehr begehbar und Teile der Brüstung hängen lose daran. Es ist nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis sie herunterfallen. Außerdem treffen wir auf Holzhaus-Ruinen, was ich bedaure. Ich mag diese Holzhäuser und was eine Instandhaltung ausmacht, kann man auf den anderen Bildern sehen.

At N56 ° 09'02.8 "E21 ° 01'51.4" we park the car on the street. A map shows a hiking trail that we memorize. At first the path is also quite nice, but then we only walk on an uninteresting slope. After a while this becomes too stupid for us and we find a way over the dunes to the sea. It is all the more beautiful here. Once again no one around, a beautiful beach and even a few waves.
