Culag Woods

After spending a lot of time in the mobile home yesterday, we really want to walk today. We drive back to Lochinver and keep in the direction of Inverkirkaig. In a curve on the right is the small parking lot to the Culag Woods. 58 ° 08'27.4 "N 5 ° 14'27.4" W.

We received a map yesterday at the tourist information office and armed with it we set off. We save ourselves the "School Path". To do this, we go to the "View Point Path". As the name suggests, things are going uphill. But a nice all-round view is worth the effort. (It's not that exhausting either).
We turn off at the Play Area and reach the "Higgedy Piggedy Path", which we take.
Nun geht es über den "Billy's Path" weiter. Eine Bank sieht ausgesprochen gemütlich aus.
Finally we reach the "Are you brave enough? Path". We are clear and promptly lose sight of the path. But you can't really get lost in this forest.

We come across a kindergarten group. All children have rubber boots and bright red rain jackets on. A sensible measure!
Der Spaziergang dauerte ca. 1 Stunde. Man kann sich natürlich auch länger aufhalten. Ein weiterer Parkplatz befindet sich in Lochinver in der Nähe des Hafens.

Ardvreck

The ruin of Ardvreck Castle is on our route. There is also a free waterfall.

Ullapool

In Ullapool we park in the Tesco Latheron car park Ln IV26 2XB and walk from there the little bit to the harbor. Unfortunately, cutters don't dock at the moment, but many tourists enjoy it in the restaurants.

Falls of Measach

At the A 832 (branches off the A 835) there is a parking lot above the waterfall IV23 2PJ - 57 ° 45'18.7 "N 5 ° 01'24.3" W. in the Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve. From here a path leads to the bridge over the deep gorge. There is also a viewing platform.
We continue on the A 832, which runs along Little Loch Broom for a while.
At Poolewe is the Inverewe Garden, which we would like to visit tomorrow. For today we have enough and we drive to Poolewe to spend the night there at the campsite. It's not even 4 p.m., but the place is already full.

The next course is about 8.5 km away in Gairloch.

Gairloch

We continue to Gairloch and there to the campsite. After dinner we walk a little through the small town. We find the radio station "Two hole radio", the smallest radio station in Great Britain. We turn around again on the rocky beach.
