In fact, there are 467 meters of altitude to be overcome on the route. What makes the tour so exhausting is the constant up and down. (Whereby - you can still go down :-))
After sightseeing, it is very pleasant to walk in nature. A stream flows next to us, the birds are chirping and we don't meet a soul.
After about 3km we reach Niederscheidweiler. We are now walking past fields and fruit trees. Then a few steps through the village and we're back in the forest. After 5km I notice that I have blisters on my feet. I don't understand because the shoes are comfortable and I've worn them several times. It's probably a seam from the stockings that's pinching. But I don't feel like taking off my shoes and straightening my stockings on the wet floor. (It's too late anyway).
After 7km I'm already done and we're just halfway through. There were no mountains to climb here, but the differences in altitude are strenuous in the long run. Turning around does not make sense on a circular route halfway, so keep going! I would like to take a break and sit down now, but the benches are wet. (And it would be difficult for me to get up again).
We reach Oberscheidweiler. I secretly look for a bus stop. But there are neither buses nor taxis in sight. Pity!
I study the map again and decide to continue walking on the country road. It's not going well here, but it saves 2km. (After all!)
Now I only walk mechanically. One foot in front of the other and one more step and another….
Contrary to expectations, we reach our motorhome after 4 hours (what feels like 8 hours). We don't normally take the steps in a parking lot, but I can't get into the car without them.
