Norddeich - Herbst 2017
I get the message from 2 friends that the wind should increase to a storm. Storm depression Xavier hits Germany.
Our next destination would be Bremerhaven and we want to try to get there via Landstrasse.
After about 15km we change our mind. It is too dangerous to drive to Bremerhaven in this storm. We drive to the nearby north dike and stay on the parking space

The weather is really bad! Rain, strong wind and cold. What could be more natural than to visit the seal rearing station right next to the pitch. First we go to the tourist information office to pick up our parking cards, as the parking space is otherwise billed at normal parking fees.
The seal station (6, - € pp) "collects" howlers who have been separated from their mother. Here they are raised until they can be brought back to the North Sea.
Das Wetter wechselt mal wieder im Sekundentakt: Sonne und Wind, Regen und Wind, starker Regen und Wind oder auch ganz starker Regen und Wind. Das hält man am besten im Café bei Kaffee und Kuchen aus. :-)
Weiter geht es auf die Dünen. Noch mehr Wind! Das Meer erobert gerade den Strand und die Promenade.
Zurück zum Wohnmobil und etwas aufwärmen. Dann marschieren wir aber noch einmal los. Wir nehmen diesmal den Weg durch den Park zum Jachthafen. Hier liegt eine der Frisia-Fähren. Mit der Frisia X bin ich als Kind nach Juist gefahren. Auch heute noch kann man von hier nach Juist oder Norderney fahren. Bei schönem Wetter würden wir das in Erwägung ziehen, die Räder mitnehmen und einer der Inseln einen Besuch abstatten. Aber heute? Lieber nicht.
