getting there

There are several ways to get to the UK by ferry. We choose the ferry Ijmuiden (Amsterdam) - Newcastle. We are already in northern England and don't have a long way to go to Scotland. It is also convenient to set off in the evening and arrive rested the next morning. We are booking again with DFDS.

We can take our time today. We have breakfast in peace and quiet and pack the last things into the mobile home. There are only about 260km to drive. We leave at 9.30 a.m.

The journey is pleasant and we only arrive at the ferry terminal early at 1 p.m. with a small traffic jam. Although it is still early, the first ones are already in the queue. The ship PRINCESS SEAWAYS is already at the pier.

First we have a coffee, pack our rucksacks and wait patiently for the check-in.
