Arromanches Les Bains / Omaha Beach

Arromanches Les Bains / Omaha Beach

It was time to move on. We wanted to see something new and our junior was still hoping to hit a stretch of coast where the waves are like the west coast of France. (His wish should not come true!)

We drove to Asnelles, a small town in front of Arromanches Les Bains. Again, we found a municipal campsite that was clean and inexpensive.

Unfortunately, there were some tractors on the beach that carried the owners' boats in or out of the water.

Of particular interest were the Allied jetties, which were in the water at high tide, but could be reached with dry feet at low tide.
Then we went to Omaha Beach. Here is a memorial to D-Day - June 6, 1944, when the Allies landed in Normandy.

We drove a little further north to Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue. There is a campsite and a parking space on the same street on offer. We took the campsite.
