Then we drove to Halmstad and looked for a campsite just outside. (But bus stop right in front of the campsite).

Here the sea invites you to swim.

In the afternoon we took the bus to Halmstad. Halmstad's symbol is Picasso's head of a woman.

At first we were rather skeptical about Malmö. We didn't want a big city. But Swedish cities cannot be compared with German ones.

We were looking for a parking space near the harbor and booked the ferry to Travemünde for the next day. Then we went to the train station and got a free map of Malmö. Then we went on a city tour. There was absolutely no "big city feeling". The center consists of many pretty half-timbered houses and invites you to stroll. There is also a beautiful park, a technology and maritime museum and the landmark - the Turning Torso. The building is 190m high and looks as if it is rotating. (Therefore the name).

The parking spaces in Malmö are chargeable. The closer to the center, the more expensive. However, if you take a walk, you can park for free at the old bathhouse (over 100 years old).

We stayed there too. That was the easiest way to be at the ferry at 8:00 a.m. the next morning.

Pünktlich fanden wir uns an der Fähre der Linie Finnlines ein. Die Fahrt kostete umgerechnet 94,50€ und sollte um 10.00 Uhr losgehen. Außer einem weiteren Wohnmobil standen sonst nur LKWs an. Nachdem alle auf der Fähre verstaut waren, ging es pünktlich los. Die Überfahrt dauerte 9 Stunden. Wir nahmen schnell noch ein Frühstück am Buffet zu uns. Anschließend schloss das Restaurant und öffnete erst abends, kurz vorm Anlegen wieder. (Gut, dass wir noch ein paar Kekse im Rucksack hatten). Kaffee und Tee gibt es kostenlos, soviel man möchte.

Wir waren verwundert, dass wir kaum einen Menschen zu Gesicht bekamen. Das erklärte sich dadurch, dass die Fahrer alle die Überfahrt mit Kabine gebucht und sich aufs Ohr gehauen hatten. Zum Abendessen erschienen sie dann so nach und nach. D.h. tagsüber hatten wir das Schiff für uns alleine.

Um 19.00 Uhr Ankunft in Travemünde. Wir fuhren noch bis Soltau und übernachteten auf einem Stellplatz, der zu einem Campingplatz gehörte.
