Got up early so that you can get to the TÜV on time. Car does not start. Batteries removed, clamped to charger. Useless. Car needs 2 x 12V batteries. Yellow Pages - on the phone. A dealer reportedly has 2 of these batteries in stock. So went there. Only had one! Taken two slightly larger ones, hopefully they'll fit in. Fit. Now the TÜV has lunch break. So then go there. The TÜV employee goes to the car. The big tires are not in the data sheet. Sure, the data sheet is also for civil vehicles. But the military vehicles all have the big tires. Well, ok, he accepts. Plastic discs do not have a test mark. That will not do! No TÜV sticker.
Driving home from the TÜV becomes a horror trip. Car does not pull, or it brakes more and more. Must stop, brakes already glowing red. A firm step on the pedal releases the brake, but now it no longer brakes at all. Drive approx. 700m to the next workshop. There the brakes are now being overhauled and the axle boots are being replaced. In addition, an oil change was made directly, which is definitely due. Car is now to be brought there via the TÜV. But have big concerns about the panes. Researched in the Iveco forum regarding plastic windows. Found someone who also has these panes on the side. He wants to send us a copy of his special permit.

Car does not fit in workshop. Tear off the siren! Copy of special permit arrived. Brought to the workshop. Maybe use something for our discs.

As a precaution, drove to an Iveco dealer and workshop. Have explained that we have an Iveco Daily 40/10 WM with plastic panes and now need glass panes for the front and sides. Query: Is that a Fiat? (???) Searching for spare parts using the approval number is unsuccessful. Put us on Monday.

Iveco dealer calls and explains that there are no plastic windows for the car! (???) We don't even want to have it! We want glass! He wants to take care of it. If it always goes like that there, it can be cheerful.

Dealer calls and gives price for windshield. When I asked about the prices for the side windows, he told me that it was only available in Belgium. That would be custom-made. (???) With a lot of patience I repeat:? The car is still being built today. With a pretty identical cab. There is a windshield and side windows. Even today! He: "Oh, you mean the door panes. You should have said that." Later he gives me the prices for the side windows (well?). Our auto mechanic is also slowly desperate. Worked with the same person and needed 2 axle boots for our car. Should outside 130 € and inside 200 € / piece. costs. No, we don't pay. He then asked Fiat. Sure, we have hundreds of different axle boots here. Come by with the old one and we'll find something suitable. So he drives to Fiat to hear: "No, we're not looking for them now." Have rummaged in the 4 x 4 forum. Cuffs are available from Foerch for a few euros. Read first experience reports from GAZ Gazelle. It's good we didn't take that. It starts to fall apart after 60 km.

Juchhu, the car came through the TÜV. The windscreen still has to be changed, (it was clear) that there is a special permit for the side windows. The papers won't be available until next week. Asked the mechanic what he did about the axle boots. The man is really good. Searched the internet. Was in the same forum as us and came across Foerch. There the parts cost about 13 €.

Preliminary letter picked up. In the evening found that the name of the car, total weight and tires are incorrect. Iveco called, windows and wipers are there.

Provisional letter returned to the workshop. Complained. TÜV-Mensch wants to take care of it. Back to the workshop in the afternoon. TÜV-Mensch has changed the letter accordingly.
