Jūrmala

Jūrmala

The route is shown on the Riga map.

Today's destination is Jūrmala, a peninsula. The shortest route is over a toll bridge. To pay you have to take the rightmost lane in front of the bridge, which we promptly miss. Is that going to be a problem now?

We control thatcampsiteon. After booking, I ask what happens now. He replies that we will have to pay for the return trip. When I tell him that we are not going back over the bridge, he shrugs his shoulders. I am not quite well now.

We can choose a place.

It's still early in the day and we want to see majori. From here it is about 2.5 km, either on the beach or on the road.

In the meantime, our bikes are so cramped from the slopes that we would need at least 1 hour to get them back to normal.

We choose the path along the beach.
The sand is firm, so some even cycle here.

Passing a pretty wooden house (hotel?) And the Baltic Beach Hotel, which looks like a stranded ocean liner, we reach Majori.
This time we choose the road for the way back and pass the sculpture of the dragon slayer.
