Ales Stenar / Åhus / Karlskrona

Ales Stenar (Käseberga)

Detour to Ales Stenar (cheese mountain).

Here there was a stone circle in the arrangement of a boat. The foremost and rearmost stone (i.e. bow and stern) were the largest stones. There is uncertainty about the creation time. It could be between 1000 and 500 BC. BC or AD 600-1000. The latter would infer the Viking Age.

Åhus

We drove on to Åhus and decided to relax here for a day. We found a nice, clean and almost empty campsite. We were allowed to choose the parking space. The beach could also be seen here.

Karlskrona

Karlskrona's old port with fortifications is a World Heritage Site. You should plan some time to visit the Naval Museum. The first pleasant impression - children up to the age of 18 have free entry. German was also spoken at the reception and tours of the ship were also available in German.

In the museum, a visitor tunnel leads into the Baltic Sea, where wreckage from the 18th century is said to be still lying. To be honest, we couldn't see anything through the windows in the murky water. But it was still fun. After spending a lot of time in the museum (with a snack in between) we of course also visited the warship lying in front of the door.
